The Parker 51, introduced in 1941, became an iconic design, selling over 20 million units in its 30-year lifespan. Recognized for its exceptional styling, precision, and craftsmanship, it earned the Fashion Academy award in 1950.

Now, sixty years later, the Parker 51 Special Edition pays homage to the 1942 Empire State model, known as the 'Icicle', with modern technology. Limited to just 5000 pens, each meticulously crafted with a Black pen featuring a 'Vermeil' Empire State cap or a Vista Blue pen with a solid Silver Empire State cap.

Unlike the original, this edition eliminates the blind cap due to its updated filling system. It retains the iconic 23Ct. Gold-filled Blue Diamond clip, symbolizing Parker's lifetime guarantee, a practice discontinued in the 1950s due to U.S. legislation.

Maintaining the 'double jewel' design, the pen features pearlized studs at each end. Concealed within is an 18 kt Gold nib, twin channel feed, and an enhanced collector for improved efficiency.

A notable departure from the original is the addition of a cartridge filling system, while still offering a screw action ink converter for those preferring bottled ink.

Packaged impressively, the Parker 51 Special Edition includes an outer box, mock crocodile case, polishing cloth, historical booklet, filling instructions, a box of 6 blue ink cartridges, and a certificate of authenticity. Delivered in a deluxe simulated snakeskin box reminiscent of 1950s England. All exactly as it was in 2012, except the black outer box has a few wrinkles on it.

This pen is in immaculate condition - as new. We can't see any signs showing it has ever been inked.
