Product Info
Opus 88 has spent a long time creating the perfect colours for their new Minty collection, and it really shows: The barrel ring affords a hint of what's inside and the end cap and grip area are a contrasting solid black. The Opus 88 Minty fountain pen features translucent chunks of white, light blue and Turquoise acrylic, with a chrome clip and red, green and black accents on the end of the pen and top of the cap. There is a green ink view window on the barrel below the black section.
The Opus 88 Minty fountain pen is an eyedropper pen and comes equipped with a JoWo steel nib in Fine.
While the filling system used by these pens is not something new - far from it - it's rare in modern pens. They may look at first as if they're piston fillers, or perhaps vacuum fillers, but these are actually eyedropper pens with a modern twist. More specifically, they're of a type often known as 'Japanese Eyedroppers' (though these aren't Japanese). They don't draw ink up into the barrel themselves, you need to use an eyedropper (or syringe if you prefer) to get ink from the bottle to the pen barrel. This way you can get much more ink into your pen - longer intervals between refills.
This is a perfect pen for someone who loves fountain pens and wants something different.
The Eyedropper filling system from Opus 88 has a large ink capacity with a valve that opens and closes flow. Open the valve when you need to write for a long session and close it when you want to carry the fountain pen in your bag (or for example on a flight!).
